Here at Quinn, we stock three types of Bras. In this post, we will run through them. In short we stock Push-up, Soft-cup and shelf bras from Roza Lingerie and our flagship brand Shirley of Hollywood.
A push-up bra is a type of brassiere designed to lift and enhance the appearance of the breasts, creating the illusion of increased cleavage and a fuller bust. The main feature of a push-up bra is its padding, usually made of foam, gel, or silicone, placed in the lower portion of the cups and along the sides. This padding pushes the breasts upward and inward, giving them a lifted and rounded shape.
The primary function of a push-up bra is to raise the breasts and push them closer together, thus creating a more pronounced cleavage. Some push-up bras also have underwire, which adds additional support and lift to the breasts.
Push-up bras come in various styles, including strapless, demi-cup, plunge, and full-coverage, catering to different outfit choices and necklines. They are popular among individuals who want to enhance their breast appearance or add more volume to their busts. It's worth noting that while push-up bras can be a great confidence booster for some, they may not be suitable or comfortable for everyone, especially those with larger breasts or certain body shapes. As with any bra, finding the right fit and style is essential for comfort and appearance.
While soft cup bras are suitable for many people and can be a comfortable alternative to underwired bras, they may not provide as much lift and shaping as a push-up or underwired bras, especially for those with larger breasts. As with any bra, finding the right size and fit is crucial to ensure comfort and support.
A shelf bra, also known as a cupless bra or a built-in bra, is a type of brassiere which provides minimal support and coverage for the breasts. Unlike regular bras that use separate cups to encase each breast individually, a shelf bra typically consists of an elastic band or a strip of fabric that runs under the breasts, offering a level of support from underneath.
The main characteristic of a shelf bra is that it leaves the upper part of the breasts exposed, creating a "shelf-like" appearance. Some shelf bras may also have adjustable straps to help customize the fit.
Due to its limited support and coverage, a shelf bra is not for individuals with larger breasts who may require more substantial support. However, it can be a popular choice for those who prefer a more revealing and sensual look while still getting some support for their breasts.
