Taking an inventory of your hosiery

Before you start, count how many pairs of stockings, tights and hold-ups you own. That will give you an idea of how much space you will need.

Have a clear out

While counting, check your hosiery pieces for any rips, pulls or ladders, or pairs you do-not wear anymore, which can go in the bin.

Tips for Arranging Your Hosiery Collection

Arranging your hosiery collection is the key to easy access and prevention of damage.

We recommend you invest in some storage boxes for your stockings, hold-ups and tights. Depending on how many you own, you may wish to get differently sized boxes, though do not forget to measure first.

An alternative would be hangers with pockets.

**1. Sort by Type and Colour:** Begin by separating your hosiery into different categories based on types, such as stockings, tights & hold-ups. Within each category, further, arrange them by colour.

That will make it easier to find the right pair for any occasion and prevent the mixing up of different types of legwear.

**2. Use Labels:** If you're using storage solutions with compartments or pockets, consider labelling each section to indicate the type and colour of the hosiery it contains. That will save you time and effort when searching for a specific pair, especially if you have a sizeable collection.

**3. Fold Carefully:** When folding your hosiery, take-care to minimise the wrinkles and creases. Smooth out the fabric gently and fold it neatly, avoiding sharp bends that can cause damage. If you're using drawer dividers or hosiery organisers, please make-sure the folded hosiery fits snugly in each compartment to prevent it from shifting and getting tangled.

**4. Store in a Clean Environment:** Keep your hosiery away from dusty or dirty areas to prevent it from collecting lint or debris. If you're using hanging storage, make-sure the space is clean and free from anything that could snag or damage the fabric.

Conclusion

By implementing these tips, you can ensure that your hosiery collection remains in excellent condition and is easily accessible whenever you want to wear them. You will notice the difference when searching for your tights, hold-ups and stockings now, and all will look neat and tidy.
